Last November, the Finale blog highlighted pianist Cliff Habian.
This past summer Cliff refined his arrangement of the Stars and Stripes Forever as part of his annual 4th of July celebrations. Feeling like the arrangement was complete, he recorded it and shared the results on YouTube, as seen below.
After posting the video, Cliff received several requests from pianists for a copy of his arrangement. Unfortunately, it was all in his head and had never been committed to notation. But, perhaps inspired to share by his patriotism, Cliff set to transcribing the performance. He notes:
“Once again, Finale has proven to be vital. It was so easy to playback my arrangement to listen for errors. Editing is beautiful with this program.”
Veterans Day is Coming
Cliff has made the resulting transcription available for free on his website, and you can also download it as a PDF here. We’re sharing it with his permission in the hope that you or one of your piano students will consider working it up and performing it this Veterans Day.
